Kingsclere Day Nursery
- 15-3-2010
Hello, I'm Gemma Lee; Nursery Manager at Kingsclere. I'm delighted to lead the team at Kinsgclere, having moved from the Merrydale Day Nursery setting just a few miles away and also part of the Complete Childcare group. I'm a committed childcare practitioner and constantly developing my expertise. I have recently completed my BA Honours degree at Reading University and am currently studying towards my Early Years Professional Status. I'm delighted to have the equally committed and highly experienced Jane Wayman as Deputy Manager here at Kingsclere.

Welcome to Kingsclere Nursery which has been running for over 25 years in Wokingham, caring for children from three months to three years, within a homely environment in a rural location.
Ladybirds
Ladybirds room caters for up to six children, with two qualified members of staff. The play room is adjacent to our ‘messy room’ which the children access throughout the day to have fun with sand, water, paint, shaving foam, corn flour and lots of sensory resources.
Ladybirds have their own cot room, and bathroom throughout the day, so play and sleep do not disturb each other! The ladybirds go outside in the garden everyday, sit under the trees, or play in the sand pit.
Caterpillars
Caterpillars spend their day in two play rooms. The rooms have transitional changes from the ladybirds to encourage children to begin developing their independence. There are table top activities as well as low shelving, boxes on the floor and mats to lay on. The children can come and go from room to room choosing their own activities. Caterpillars also play in the garden everyday on the swings, climbing frame and bikes.
Dragonflies
Dragonflies operate from our largest room, which adjoins our patio. Children can have free flow play moving from the classroom to the patio as they choose during set periods in the day. The children can access sand and water play everyday, and are encouraged to take part in activities to develop concentration, fine motor skills and curiosity but to name a few.
The Dragonflies now have their own creative room where they can enjoy getting messy with shaving foam, sand, water and other messy play. The children cane choose to draw, paint, stick and do chalking in their new room.
Garden time is an important part of the routine and we take every opportunity to get out into the fresh air and explore the outdoors. The children benefit from our garden with plenty of room to run around with there friends. The children develop there physical skills in the garden and benefit from the climbing frames, sandpit and other outdoor resources.
