WELCOME
Welcome to Stepping Stones Day Nursery in Finchampstead,the first complete childcare nursery to have received OUTSTANDING from Ofsted in March 2011. Established in February 1989, we are committed to providing a safe and stimulating environment for babies and children aged from 3 months to 5 years.
Our commitment is to give every child in our care a happy and fulfilling memory of childhood, while working with each parent’s wishes for their child as our guiding principle.

We like to regard ourselves as one part of the parenting team for each child, helping to give them the confidence, experience, skills and social values which you want them to have.  The process starts in the pre-school years, and is the foundation of a happy, healthy and well-adjusted child, beginning from birth.

OPENING HOURS
Stepping Stones is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm, all year round except the week between Christmas and New Year.  We are flexible to parents’ needs and can offer whatever mix of part and full days you need, subject to the availability of space in each room.
•    Full-Time between 8am and 6pm. Includes breakfast, snack, lunch and high tea.
•    Mornings between 8am and 12.45pm, including breakfast, snack and lunch
•    Afternoons between 1:45pm and 6pm, including high tea.

CATERING
Stepping Stones Day Nursery has its own Chef, called Yvonne who has prepared meals for Stepping Stones for 5 years.We also recently gained 5 stars from Environmental Health in August 2010. Yvonne purchases fresh, seasonal produce daily and prepares and home-bakes all meals on-site.  We take nutrition very seriously and offer the recommended ‘5-a-day’ for all children who attend full days.
For breakfast children enjoy cereals and toast and we also offer a healthy snack.  At lunch a nutritious main meal is served followed by a healthy dessert. Healthy, filling snacks are served at high tea and all meals are served with water or milk. We are sensitive to the nutritional and dietary needs of the babies/children, and of those children with specific preferences for health, religious or cultural reasons.

SPECIAL FEATURES

OUTSTANDING FROM OFSTED-MARCH 2011
Stepping Stones holds two extra-curricular classes each week to make the children’s enjoyment and positive learning experiences even richer.

‘Great Little Movers’ enhances your child’s interest in music and movement – great for all round physical development. A qualified DMP (Developmental Movement Play) practitioner gives lessons once a week and the service is exclusive to Complete Childcare nursery settings.

We are also focused on worldwide language and culture so we also welcome a French Teacher who shares her experiences with the children and teaches them French language and culture through play and song.
